Marian Kotleba

Marian Kotleba ( born April 7, 1977 in Banská Bystrica, Czechoslovakia, now Slovakia) is a Slovak politician of the right-wing People's Party Our Slovakia. In November 2013 he was elected Župan the Regional Association of Banská Bystrica in Slovakia and has since December 20, 2013 in office.

Life

Career

Kotleba graduated in the Middle Industrial School of Jozef Murgaš in electrical computer systems and studied at the Fakulität of Natural Science at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, where he graduated with a diploma title as an educator. In August 2013 Kotleba completed his studies at the Faculty of Economics of Matej Bel University and received the title of host chat engineer. From September 2001, he taught at the Sports School in Banská Bystrica, 2006, he was transferred from the school administration but to a post in the administration. After the Slovak community ban Kotleba founded a fashion label with the name " KKK Mode". In July 2012, he was dismissed from the school.

Political activity

Kotleba in 2003 took over the leadership of the ultra-nationalist Slovak community. In 2007 he was indeed replaced by Ivan Sykora, yet Kotleba remained the face of the movement. In December 2008, the Slovak Interior Ministry ban the Slovak community, but in fact she was still active. Until 2008, members of the Slovak community mostly occurred on in black uniforms that resembled those of the Hlinka Guard. With the marches in the summer of 2009, the appearance changed significantly: the clothes remained predominantly black, but the uniforms disappeared and were replaced with screen caps and leather jackets. There is a " Vodca " ( leader ) at the top of the Slovak community.

Kotleba was arrested several times by the police: so in March 2009, when he ended his speech with the fascist salute "Well stráž " ( On Guard) in Bratislava, and in August of the same year, when he wanted to lead a demonstration in the eastern Slovak community Krompachy.

Back in 2005, founded Kotleba his first political party, the " Slovak Community - National Party" ( Slovenská pospolitosť - Národná strana ). However, it was banned in 2006 because their program violated the Constitution.

The Government of the counties ( Župan ) were elected in Slovakia on November 14, 2009. As an independent candidate in the district of Banská Bystrica Marian Kotleba received 10 % of the vote and gained it fourth among the new candidates. He had operated exclusively via the Internet and with leaflets His campaigning.

In the county elections in November 2013 Kotleba received in the first Wahldruchgang 21,30 % of the votes abgebenen and managed so as runner-up in the runoff election with the Social Democratic incumbent Vladimír Maňka. In the second ballot to Kotleba continued with 55 % of the votes cast by against the Social Democratic incumbent Vladimír Maňka and therefore elected as the new Župan the country district Banská Bystrica. After the postponement of the inauguration Kotleba swore the oath on 20 December 2013, and since then has been in office. During the inauguration refused some MPs to shake hands with him.

On January 30, 2014 addressed Kotleba against the background of the mass protests in Ukraine an open letter to Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. In his letter Kotleba Yanukovych called for, "in the interest of the future of the Slavic peoples " to give in any case, since one can not negotiate with " terrorists." This would proceed according Kotleba just as in the Entmachtnung of the " Serbian national hero Slobodan Milošević ".
