Marianne Jean-Baptiste
Marianne Jean -Baptiste ( born April 26, 1967 in London, England, United Kingdom; Raigipcien as Marianne Jean -Baptiste ) is a British actress, screenwriter and composer. She was the first black British actress who was nominated for an Oscar ( for Best Supporting Actress in Mike Leigh's Secrets and Lies ).
Biography
Her acting training, she graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and she went after among others on the Royal National Theatre. She also received Hanif Kureishi's film roles in London kills me, and the award-winning crime series Cracker.
