Mariano Aguerre

Mariano Aguerre ( born May 25, 1969 in Pilar, Buenos Aires Province) is an Argentine polo player, who reached a handicap of 10 in Argentina and is one of the world leaders.

Life

Mariano Aguerre played along with Gonzalo Pieres (senior) in the Ellerstina Polo Team, with whom he won the 1994 Triple Corona ( Tortugas Open, Hurlingham Open and Argentine Open). But his international career as a professional player started much earlier, when he won the USPA Gold Cup in the " White Birch " team of Peter Brant in 1987. Seven other USPA Gold Cup followed, other important tournament victories included the Sotogrande Gold Cup and the CV Whitney Cup. He mainly plays in Argentina and in the USA.

By 2010, he took a total of 17 times the Campeonato Argentino Abierto de Polo in part, won eight times and was more three times in the final. In Argentina, he was by the end of 2009, captain of La Dolfina Polo Team, where he usually played at the position 3.

Mariano is with Tatiana Pieres, daughter of Gonzalo Pieres (Senior ), married. He has two daughters, Sophie and Lola, and a son ( Antonio). In addition to his success as a polo player, he has made a name as a horse breeder. The first cloned polo pony in the world was born in his horse-breeding station in the United States on April 22, 2010.
