Marianopoli

Marianopoli is a city in the province of Caltanissetta in the Italian region Sicily, with 1976 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Marianopoli located 35 km north- west of Caltanissetta. The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture and animal husbandry.

The neighboring municipalities are Caltanissetta, Mussomeli, Petralia Sottana (PA) and Villalba.

History

The community was founded in 1726 by the Baron Lombardo della Scala. The present name of the community, she received 1801.
