Marianowo, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Marianowo ( German Marienfließ ) is a village and seat of the eponymous municipality in the country Stargardzki powiat ( county Stargard in Pomerania ), Poland. It is located 16 km north-east of Stargard ( Stargard in Pomerania ) on the Krępa ( Nonnenbach ) below of the Great Lake ( Jezioro Marianowskie ).

Village Marianowo ( Marienfließ )

History

In 1248 Duke Barnim I built a Cistercian monastery Marienfließ and gave him land for colonization. In 1569 the monastery was converted into a pen for noble lady. The place was one of the foundations of the village nuns. Between 1688 and 1690 was rebuilt of brick church, which was in 1892 further enhanced by the addition of a steeple on the west side.
