Marie-Ève Drolet

Marie- Ève Drolet ( born February 3, 1982 in Chicoutimi ) is a Canadian Shorttrackerin.

She began at age six with short track speed skating and starts for the club Comètes de Chicoutimi and trained today at the power center in Montreal. She denied at the Junior World Championship 1997 in Marquette its first international competition and won over 500 m bronze in the all around competition, she finished fourth. Since 1998, Drolet officially part of the national squad. In 1999, she was again successful at the Junior World Championship. In multiplayer battle she again Fourth, about 500 meters, she won silver and 1500m bronze. Also in the Team World Championship 1999 in St. Louis, she won silver. The following season, 1999/ 00 Drolet reached about 1500 m and 3000 m for the first time a World Cup podium. At the Junior World Championships in Székesfehérvár Drolet won gold in the all around and also on the individual routes 500 m, 1000 m and 1500 m respectively silver. Drolet could repeat winning the bronze medal at the 2002 World Championships in Montreal in both the Team World Cup 2002 in Milwaukee and with the relay. She qualified for the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. There they took over 1000 m and 1500 m the ranks of four and six, in the relay competition, she won the bronze medal. Only six years later, in the 2008 /09 season, Drolet returned to the ice. In the World Cup, it reached more semifinals. Successes, she won again in season 2010/11.
