Marie-Nicole Lemieux

Marie -Nicole Lemieux ( born June 26, 1975 in Dolbeau Mistassini -, Quebec ) is a Canadian opera and concert singer with the voice of the old population of Francophone Canadians.

Life

Has studied at the Conservatoire de Musique de Lemieux Montréal Marie Daveluy, they also drew attention to the fact that her voice was a contralto. As the first Canadian woman she won in 2000 at the Queen Elisabeth Competition first prize in the field of singing, in which she also received a special prize for song vocals awarded.

In addition to the Lied ( they already took Richard Wagner's Wesendonck Lieder, songs of Gustav Mahler, as well as French mélodies on ), she devoted herself mainly of Baroque opera. George Frideric Handel and Antonio Vivaldi make this the focus of their repertoire dar. 2005 she made ​​her debut in Il ritorno d' Claudio Monteverdi's Ulisse in patria under René Jacobs at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
