Marie-Pierre Leray

Marie- Pierre Leray ( born February 17, 1975 in Paris) is a former French figure skater.

Biography

The Figure Skating Marie -Pierre Leray began at the age of nine years. They recorded their first major success in 1993 when she won the French championship in pair skating with her partner Frederic Lipka. After Lipka had ended his career, she started her solo career, finishing in 14th place at the Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer in 1994. A year later, she won at the World Figure Skating Championships 1995 in Birmingham, England in seventh place. Surgery forced to interrupt their careers. Following the resumption of training, she qualified while again for the World Cup, but then ended her active career because she had never felt in the role of a single runner really well.

Furthermore, the pair of running indulging, she contacted in the spring of 2000, Nicolas Osseland, with whom she had already in 1995 briefly trained for the pair of running. She took the training again and started a pair of running career with Osseland, the number of successes recorded in 2001. After their separation in 2003, she worked as an individual runner again, where her focus was no longer the competition. In those years she presented shows, the ice combined with graceful aerial acrobatics.

In the early years of their active skating career, the 1.68 meter tall French woman enchanted with her looks and charisma and fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, who had chosen to model for his collection.
