Marie Souvestre

Marie Souvestre ( born April 28, 1835 in Brest, Brittany, † March 30, 1905 in Allen's Wood, England) was a French feminist, human rights activist and head of boarding.

Biography

Marie was the daughter of the famous novelist and dramatist Émile Souvestre and his wife Angélique -Anne Papot. Together with her ​​partner Caroline Dussault 1865 she founded a girls boarding school in Fontainebleau, near Paris Les Ruches. Their students came mostly from wealthy citizens and families of artists. After the death of Dussault in 1887 left Souvestre France to open an exclusive girls' boarding school in Allen Wood in London.
