Mariedal Castle

Castle Mariedal, about 9 km north of the Swedish city of Skara, is a baroque palace in Västergötland.

Chancellor Magnus Gabriel de la Gardie gave in 1666 the architect Jean de la Vallée commissioned to build a castle on the estate Sörbo. The castle with its two wings named after De la Gardie wife Maria Euphrosyne.

The castle is unchanged on the whole, and now privately owned.
