The train station Berlin -Marie Felde is a Berlin S-Bahn station and a goods station at the Berlin- Dresden railway in the district of Marie Felde of the district Tempelhof- Schöneberg.

History

The breakpoint Marie Felde was opened with the Dresden Railway on 17 June 1875. A few months later, on October 15, 1875, the station was also a stop at the Royal Prussian military railway from Berlin to Zossen military station. The breakpoint at that time was far away from the building. He was an impetus for the development of new Marie Felde.

1893 the breakpoint has been extended to the station. The expansion of the middle platform was opened in March 1903. Since May 1939, the station is served by the electric tram.

During the Second World War, the terminal building was partially destroyed. Today, there is only access to the platform. After the war, the second track was dismantled in the direction Lichtenrade. This was in 1990 rebuilt to offer a ten -minute intervals until Lichtenrade can.

In the early 1950s the freight station was built and the name of the station on 1 August 1952 in Berlin -Marie Felde changed.

In connection with the reconstruction of the mainline tracks of the Dresden Train to Berlin territory a rebuilding the railway station Berlin -Marie Felde is planned. In this context, a barrier-free access to the platform is to be realized. Implementation is planned from 2016 to 2018, the cost of the action is estimated at 3 million euros.

Traffic History

Between Berlin and Zossen -Marie Felde different fast speed tests were carried out with electric locomotives and railcars on the Royal Prussian Military Railroad 1901-1904. These vehicles are powered by three-phase alternating current of 10 kV and variable frequency. The power supply was about three superposed overhead lines.

On October 27, 1903, the trial railcars AEG turned on with 210.2 kmh a new world record. A plaque at the station remembered today on this record.

Freight yard

Southeast of the S- platform is the freight station. About this station and the S- Bahn tracks freight trains are led to Suedring for handling installation of the oil port Lankwitz.

Connection

The S-Bahn station is served by the S2 line of the Berlin S -Bahn and in 2006 was around 8,000 passengers daily. By bus, large parts of Marie Felde are connected to the station.
