Marijn Poels

Marijn Poels (born 10 July 1975 Meerlo ) is a Dutch filmmaker, documentary filmmaker and producer. Poels worked as a freelance documentary filmmaker and produced films about international cooperation, human rights, social, political and economic issues. He produced, among other films Nothing About Us, The Voice of 650 Million Times One ( The Voice of the unheard ) and the TV series L1mburg Helpt (2009 and 2012 ) and Route 2015 ( 2011).

The film returns (2013 ) was commissioned by the Dutch regional station L1 via his cousin and cyclist Wout Poels, who crashed in the Tour de France in 2012, and again fights back in the sport after serious internal injuries to kidney, lung and spleen.

The filmmaker began his career with the films of tour documentaries and a few video clips for the Dutch punk band Heideroosjes.
