Mariléia dos Santos

Mariléia dos Santos, better known as Michael Jackson ( * 1963 in Valença ) is a former Brazilian football player. She was 12 years player in the Brazilian national football team of women who participated in two World Championships and the Olympic Games.

Career

It was regarded as " Pele " of women's football in the 1980s and 1990s and is said to have paved the way for women's football in Brazil. Among the teams in which they played include women's teams are Esporte Clube radar in Rio, Corinthians, Santos Futebol Clube, SC Internacional in Porto Alegre, CR Vasco da Gama, Saad Esporte Clube in São Caetano do Sul, and Turin in Italy. It is alleged that they have scored 1567 goals in her career. She was awarded the third place of the International Federation of Football History ( IFFHS ) in the gallery of the best players of the twentieth century in South America.

Michael Jackson had its first success in 1983 at the age of 20, when her team ( Tupy in Santa Catarina ) the first São Paulo Cup of women's football won. She was then taken by the legendary team of radar, where it remained from 1983 to 1989 and scored 800 goals. In 1990, she moved to Saad, the team that has won six titles in a row and the Copa São Paulo Mundialito 1995. In the same year she moved to the opening of the international market for talents to Italy.
