Marília Atlético Clube

The Marília Atlético Clube, or just Marília or MAC, is a Brazilian football club from the city of some 230,000 inhabitants Marília in the west of the state of São Paulo. The club colors are light blue and white. The usual brazil club mascot is a tiger, which was chosen in a competition in 1969.

The club was founded on 14 December 1942 as Esporte Clube Comercial. As a club colors red and white were chosen at that time. Since the name was quite unpopular, it was renamed on July 11 Marília Atlético Clube in 1947. On April 19, 1954, the club stressed the football department, which was 15 years later, brought back to life on July 7, 1969.

In the first decade of the 21st century, the club was represented in six seasons in the second national power level, the Série B. 2003 and 2005 thereby pass to the fourth, fifth place respectively some notable successes.

Stadium

The Association carries out the home games at the Estádio Bento de Abreu, which has a maximum capacity of 17,500 spectators. The full name of the stadium is Estádio Municipal Bento de Abreu Sampaio Vidal, it is by local visitors but mostly just called Abreuzão. The arena is not a pure football stadium, there are also other sports practiced there. Construction was completed on 4 April 1967.
