Marilyn French

Marilyn French ( born November 21, 1929 in New York City; † May 2, 2009 ibid ) was an American writer, literary scholar and feminist.

Since 1964, she taught English literature. In 1972 she was awarded his doctorate with a thesis on James Joyce. Her best-known work women where they the controversial and much-quoted phrase " All men are rapists and nothing else " coined, first appeared in 1977. Several occasions they collaborated with other authors, such as with Florence Howe and Rosalind Miles.

Marilyn French had a son and a daughter and lived in New York.

The Swedish pop group ABBA said Marilyn French in her 1982 published song The Day Before You Came in the text line: " I must have read a while, the latest one by Marilyn French or something in style did ."
