Marilyn Neufville

Marilyn Neufville ( born November 16, 1952 in Hectors River, Portland Parish ) is a former British- Jamaican sprinter. She set a world record in the 400 -meter run and won at international events four gold medals.

Born in Jamaica, she emigrated as an eight- year-olds in the United Kingdom, where she launched for the Cambridge Harriers. She won three AAA Junior Championships:

In 1969, s AAA runner-up was 200 m in 24.3 behind Dorothy Hyman ( 23.7 s ). About 400 m, it achieved 54.2 s

Into the public spotlight, she joined in March 1970, when they gold medal over 400 m in the indoor world record of 53.01 s won at the Indoor Athletics European Championships in Vienna, after having already done the AAA Indoor Championships in 54.9 s ( the runner-up was 1.6 seconds slower ) had decided for themselves.
