Marina Berti

Marina Berti (actually Elena Maureen Bertolini, born September 29, 1924 in London, † October 29, 2002 in Rome) was an Italian actress.

Life

The daughter of an Italian immigrant in England came in the late 1930s in the home of her father; first to Florence, where she worked as a reciter in radio and as a stage actress. Also for the duck Italiano per le Audizioni Radiofoniche she worked. After her move to Rome Berti starred in nearly 100 films, including mainly monumental and historical films. Her acting debut was the brown-haired, beautiful, photogenic, sometimes absent and melancholy -looking actress, 1941 in Piero Ballerinis La Fuggitiva. In 1943, she scored a lasting impression with Alberto Lattuada's Giacomo l' idealista. There was a long, until her death lasting career, while she was able to get more and their age contemporary roles. A jump to Hollywood failed, however; in international productions such as Ben Hur and Cleopatra her were granted only minor roles. She played in all productions of her husband, actor and director Claudio Gora, with which they three children, including the actor Andrea and Carlo. In 1958, she was featured in a television production.

2002 Marina Berti died of cancer. Your last film role was as the princess in Constantin Costa -Gavras ' film The deputy.
