Marine Mammals Protection Act
The Marine Mammals Protection Act ( full title: An Act to make commission for the protection, conservation, and management of marine mammals within New Zealand and within New Zealand fisheries waters ) is a law passed in 1978 New Zealand law. It was given on October 20, 1978 Royal Assent and came into force on 1 January 1979.
The law treats measures to protect marine mammals and dealing with them on the territory of New Zealand. For its implementation, the Department of Conservation is responsible.
