Marineland (Antibes)

Marineland in Antibes on the Cote d' Azur in France is a marine theme. He aims to show visitors bring dolphins, sea lions, seals and other marine life in more detail in several demonstrations on the day. Since 1999, the park will be extended in small increments to allow the animals artgerechtere enclosure. The park was purchased in 2006 for 75 million euros by the Spanish Parques Reunidos park chain.

History

In 1969, the park is a orca, later named Calypso. She took a one year after numerous demonstrations. Now basins were built for dolphin shows and expanded, and built a pool for several orcas. Another female orca who was captured in 1970, died after three years after artificial insemination was unsuccessful. Dolphins, sea lions, seals and penguins were added and in 1976 a male Orca ( Kim), who received a Orcakuh named Betty to mate after two years. Overall, it held twelve orcas, five of which there are 2010.

In 1999, the new Orcabecken was built with a 4.60 meter high glass wall for underwater observation; the dolphins moved into the basin of the orcas. The Orca Basin measures 60 by 40 meters and is 9 to 10 feet deep. There were carried out up to now eight births in the Orcas and ten at the dolphins. The sea lions live in the third generation, as well as the penguins. Since 2005, visitors have the opportunity to touch dolphins under the supervision of a supervisor and to feed in a special pool. Another home presents historical events in France.

Each one has its own supervisor or trainer. The water for the dolphins and orcas is pumped and filtered directly from the adjacent sea. Thus, the sea creatures have very clean saline water.
