Marino Lejarreta
Marino Lejarreta Arrizabalaga ( born May 14, 1957 in Bérriz, Spain ) is a former Spanish cyclist. He began his professional career in 1979 and finished it in 1992 with 64 professional victories.
The greatest success during his 13 -year career was the overall victory in the Vuelta a España in 1982. Moreover, he became the only driver to the cycling classics Clasica San Sebastian three times. In addition Lejarreta is the world's only professional cyclist of four times in his career, the three Grand Tours (Tour de France, Giro d' Italia and Vuelta a España) took during a year in attack and also finished. He succeeded in the years 1987, 1989, 1990 and 1991.
A 1983 born nephew Lejarretas, the mountain bikers Iñaki Lejarreta, 2012 died in a traffic accident.
