Marino Vanhoenacker

Vanhoencker Marino ( born July 19, 1976 in Ostend) is a Belgian triathlete, multiple Ironman Triathlon winner and European Champion on the long distance (2012 ). With 7:45:58 hours - the winning time at Ironman Austria 2011 - he held the world record at the Ironman distance.

Career

In November 2000 he became vice - world champion in South Africa Duathlon. After a few more Duathlon successes Marino Vanhoencker scored the fifth and continue in sequence ten times the long distance (3.86 km swim, 180.2 km bike in his first triathlon start of the Ironman distance in 2001 in Florida, 42.195 km running) win. He is six -time winner of the Ironman Austria.

In July 2011, he scored with his winning time in Klagenfurt ( 07:45:58 hours) set a new world record at the Ironman distance. Just one week later, this time was undercut by Andreas Raelert. He was a member of the Commerzbank Triathlon Team until its dissolution in late 2011.

At the World Championship in Hawaii, he had to lie to quit the race and undergo medical treatment in October 2012 in the lead.

Vanhoencker Marino is married to the triathlete Elke Vanrenterghem. Today Marino starts for the Austrian pewag racing team of the premium manufacturer pewag chain. His nickname is " Bink " and he is looked after today by Normann Stadler.
