Mario Amendola

Mario Amendola ( born December 8, 1910 in Recco (Genoa ), † 22 December 1992 ) was an Italian screenwriter and film director.

Life

With over 150 screenplays and almost 40 films on their own Amendola is one of the most prominent figures of the Italian commercial cinema of the 1950s to the 1980s.

In his youth Amendola went to Turin and took opportunity to work as an actor and as soon as an author for comic scenes. His style and his kind of humor soon attracted the attention of well-known artists. So he wrote soon for the revues vonWanda Osiris and was Ruggero Maccari with the root author for Erminio Macario. Renato also Rascel or Walter Chiari used after the Second World War, his talent for comedy and musical films, which he later continued with their " followers " as Franco Villa, Totò or Franco & Ciccio.

With Bruno Corbucci together he wrote the film series about the scruffy detective Tony chestnuts, which had great success in Germany. His self- staged films, however, were seldom performed in Germany.

From 1949 he led from time to time according to their own screenplays himself also directed 37 films.
