Mario Bazina

Mario Bazina ( born September 8, 1975 in Mostar, SFR Yugoslavia, now Bosnia - Herzegovina) is a Croatian football player. After eight years working in Austria Bazina 2009 returned back to his home and signed a contract with NK Široki Brijeg.

Career

His footballing career started Bazina in the youth teams of Velez Mostar, Hajduk Split Hrvatski Dragovoljac in which he was allowed to accumulate later in the pros. Later followed the transfer to Dinamo Zagreb. In the summer of 2001, he moved along with Mario Tokić in the Austrian Football Bundesliga Grazer AK, where he on 25 July 2001 - made ​​his competitive debut - a 3-0 home win against Admira Wacker. Bazina became one of the most important players of the Grazer AK and won with the club in 2004 and the league title in 2002 and 2004, the OFB Cup. When GAK he scored in 131 national games 33 matches in European competitions, he scored ten goals in 30 games. In the fall of 2005 he was elected Player of the year 2005 in Austria.

In January 2006, the attacking midfielder joined the Austrian record champions SK Rapid Wien, where he played until the summer of 2008 and was able to win the title in his last season in green and white. For the 08/ 09 season Bazina signed a one-year contract with FK Austria Wien, where he has been trophy winner in Austria. Though he had offers of the Kapfenberg SV and Grazer AK, Bazina returned after only one year at Austria Vienna in his native country back and signed for the 2009/10 season at the NK Široki Brijeg as sports director, where he as a child his first contacts with the football had.

He completed one match for Croatia, on 21 August 2002 in a 1-1 draw against Wales.

Trained as an electrical engineer is married and has a son.

Bazinas strengths lie in his ball control and technique. This is also his nickname "Magic Mouse".
