Mario Giordano (writer)

Mario Giordano (* May 30, 1963 in Munich) is a German writer.

Life

Giordano studied psychology and philosophy at the University of Dusseldorf. He writes novels, short stories, children 's books, screenplays and radio plays. Today Giordano lives in Cologne.

His novel " Black Box " (1999), based on a true story ( Stanford Prison Experiment ), was made ​​into a film The Experiment, directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel below the title. The film has won numerous awards, Giordano was awarded, among others, at the Bavarian Film Prize the screenplay prize.

He gives seminars screenplay at the Film Academy Baden- Württemberg and the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart ( ITFS ).

Since 2007, Mario Giordano also works as a mentor for TV series at the Academy of Children's Media.

Art Books for Children

In a series of art books for children Giordano tried to introduce in pictures and words children to art. So he devotes himself, for example, in the book " The Lion in studio " the representations of animals in the history of art. In the book "Angels and Monsters " paintings by renowned painters from Raphael to be Paul Klee shown and discussed.
