Mario Nasalli Rocca di Corneliano

Mario Cardinal Nasalli Rocca di Corneliano ( born August 12, 1903 in Piacenza, Italy, † November 9, 1988 in Rome ) was a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Mario Nasalli Rocca di Corneliano was a nephew of Cardinal Giovanni Nasalli Rocca di Corneliano. He received according to philosophical and theological studies in Rome on 9 April 1927, the sacrament of Holy Orders. Pope Pius XI. appointed him in 1931 to his chamberlain. The successor of Pius XII. awarded him in 1949 the title of papal prelate house.

In 1969 he was called by Pope Paul VI. Titular Archbishop of Antium and prefect of the Apostolic Chamber. A few days later, he donated Paolo Cardinal Marella episcopal ordination. On April 28, he took Paul VI. as cardinal deacon with the title Diakonia San Giovanni Battista Decollato in the College of Cardinals. He participated in the conclaves of August and October 1978. 1979 Pope John Paul II appointed him while maintaining his titular church of Cardinal Priest pro hac vice. He died after a long illness with 85 years in a hospital in Rome.
