Mario Winans

Mario Winans ( born August 27, 1974 in Orangeburg, South Carolina) is an American record producer, songwriter and singer. He achieved fame in 2004 with his album Hurt No More, as well as the hit single "I Do not Wanna Know ".

Winans was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, but spent much of his childhood in Detroit, Michigan. As the son of Marvin and Vicki Winans and nephew of gospel singer BeBe CeCe Winans and he came very early with church music and rhythm & blues into contact. He learned to play in the school piano, keyboard and drums.

Immediately after his time at the high school, he began with the production and songwriting own gospel bands. First deserved recognition Winans, however, especially for his work with Fred Hammond, The Anointed and The Clark Sisters, and later he made mainly attracted attention by his productions on the albums of various family members.


Mid-nineties, Mario Winans signed an exclusive production deal with Dallas Austin's Rowdy Records. The first single from the album, " I Do not Wanna Know" with a sample of Enya's Boadicea, was released in early 2004 and developed within a few weeks to a worldwide hit.
