Marion Barons

The Marion Barons were an American ice hockey franchise in the International Hockey League from Marion, Ohio. The venue of the Barons was the Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

History

The Marion Barons were founded in 1953 and played one season in the International Hockey League. This they were able to finish in second place after the main round with 40 wins and 24 defeats. Then the team was disbanded in 1954. They were a farm team of the Cleveland Barons, who were then active in the American Hockey League.

Four players who were at the Marion Barons under contract, made ​​it into the National Hockey League: Armand Delmonte, Ott Heller, Johnny Ingoldsby and Tony Poeta.
