Marion Bauer

Marion Eugénie Bauer ( born August 15, 1882 in Walla Walla, Washington; † August 9, 1955 in South Hadley, Massachusetts) was an American composer.

Bauer received her first training with her ​​older sister, the pianist Emilie Frances Bauer and studied from 1903 in New York with Henry Holden Huss. In France, she was a student of Stéphane Raoul Pugno, André Gedalge, Jean Paul Ertel and Nadia Boulanger. Upon her return to the United States she taught from 1926 to 1951 at the University of New York City and since 1940 at the Juilliard School of Music.

Bauer wrote next stage and film music, a piano concerto, other orchestral pieces, chamber music and songs in different occupation. In addition, she also published music theory works.
