Marion Becker

Marion Becker, nee Steiner ( Ebert ) ( born January 21, 1950 in Hamburg) is a former German track and field athlete who won the silver medal in the javelin at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal ( 60,66 - 60.52 to 64.70 m - invalid - invalid - invalid). She started playing these games in the team of the Federal Republic.

Marion Becker grew up in the GDR (1969: East German youth champion in the javelin, start for the SC Karl- Marx-Stadt ) and moved 1969 to Romania to marry Siegfried Becker, a Romanian German nationality, who was also her coach. At the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 she took part in the javelin for Romania, but failed to qualify.

In 1973 she moved to the Federal Republic. They first had her daughter Almut, who later received an exit permit, leave with grandparents in Romania.

Marion Becker joined in the Federal Republic in the USC Munich. In her competition time, she was 1.64 m tall and weighed 63 kg.
