Marion Rung
Marion Rung ( born December 7, 1945 in Helsinki) is a Finnish pop singer. 1962 and 1973, she represented Finland at the Euro Vision Song Contest.
Since the release of their first single, Brigitte Bardot / Mexico in 1961, it is one of the most successful singers of the country. In 1962, she won the title Tipi tii the Finnish Trials Grand Prix Euro Vision and entered on March 18 of the year for Finland when held in Luxembourg Euro Vision Song Contest 1962. They came in seventh place, until then best placement for a Finnish contribution. In 1973 she appeared with the points made in the English language title Tom Tom Tom again in this competition. This time she came in sixth. For Finland, the long was the least successful country in the history of the Grand Prix, this was, until the victory of the hard rock band Lordi in 2006, the best finish dar. 1980 she reached the 4th Intervision songs competition in the Polish Sopot with the Title Where is the love even the first place.
In Finland it was since their first recordings with both original compositions as well as Finnish interpretations of English and American titles such as Lady Sunshine and Mr. Moon or My Boy Lollipop successfully. In the 1970s Rung also took a couple of singles on German, of which El Bimbo was probably the most successful. In addition, she also sang in Swedish, English, French, Hebrew, Yiddish. In 1972, Rung, who comes from a Jewish family, with the show program Shalom forth in which she offered traditional Jewish songs like Hava Nagila.
In the 1970s and 1980s it was also present on Finnish television, even if the charts successes subsided. A great success on the stage was conducted in 2000 Tour Leidit lavalla with the three other big stars of the Finnish Schlager: Katri Helena, Paula Koivuniemi and Lea Laven. The following year, she committed her 40th stage anniversary with a tour through the Finnish dance temple ( tanssilavat ).
