Mariska Hargitay
Mariska Hargitay Magdolina ( born January 23, 1964 in Los Angeles ) is an American actress and Golden Globe -winning actress, among others.
Life
Hargitay was born the daughter of actor Mickey Hargitay and Jayne Mansfield to the world. At the age of three years she survived the car accident in which her mother died. Mariska and her brothers Zoltan and Mickey Jr. were sitting on the back seat and escaped with light injuries.
Hargitay attended the University of California, Los Angeles and came after her Bachelor additional courses in Theatre Science, however, the university left without obtaining an advanced degree. Later, she became an actress and had her first role in the movie Ghoulies (1985). After that, they occurred mainly in the U.S. television series such as Falcon Crest, Tequila & Bonetti, ER - The ER, A Single Guy, Baywatch, Love must be crazy and Seinfeld. In Hollywood films like Leaving Las Vegas ( 1995) she received supporting roles. In the film drama Murder in the reeds (2004) she played the lead role. Since 1999 she plays one of the lead roles in the crime series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Hargitay is married to actor Peter Hermann. The couple has a son (* 2006) and adopted in 2011, a girl ( * 2011) and one boy (* 2011).
Awards
For her role as Detective Olivia Benson in the U.S. television series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit she received a 2005 Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama Series and 2006 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, having previously twice was nominated for this award.
