Marit Breivik ( born April 10, 1955 in Levanger ) is a Norwegian handball coach and former player.

Career

Breivik played at Nessegutten, North beach and Skogn IL, with whom she won three championships. Between 1975 and 1983 they played 137 games for the Norwegian national team, in which they scored 286 hits.

After her active career, she coached the club teams of Nessegutten, Byåsen IL and Larvik HK. Between 1994 and 2009, she coached the Norwegian selection. Under her leadership, Norway once won the World Cup, once the Olympics and the European Championship three times.

On March 21, 2009, she was made ​​a Knight 1st Class of the Order of St. Olav.

Breivik married in 1997 the Norwegian Handball official Niels Hertzberg, who died in March 2013.
