Marit Paulsen

Marit Paulsen Eli (* November 24, 1939 in Oslo as Marit Bjørnerud ) is a Swedish writer and politician.

Paulsen, who had a German grandfather, was born six months before the German occupation of Norway. Formally, it is not considered as true Tyskerbarn, but the climate was her time to be very rough. The early sixties she moved to Sweden, where she worked in a rolling mill and then the community college attended on Brunnsviken before they became successful as a writer. My most successful work is Israel Ida, which was inspired by the time of the Tyskerbarnen.

Politically Paulsen since 1998 belongs to the liberal Folkpartiet nutrition, before she was a member of the Socialdemokraterna. She was for several years vice-chairman of the Liberal. From 1999 to 2004 she was a member of the European Parliament. In 2009, she ran again as top candidate of the liberal Folkpartiet nutrition, and moved again in the Parliament. They received the most votes of all persons parliamentary candidates, due to their high popularity.

Paulsen is the recipient of two honorary doctorates.
