Marita Lange

Marita Lange ( born June 22, 1943 in Halle ( Saale) ) is a German track and field athlete and Olympic medal winner, who in the 1960s and 1970s - starting for the GDR - one of the world's best shot putters inside. Her biggest success is the silver medal at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City.

Successes in detail

Marita Lange competed for the SC Chemie Halle and trained with Lothar Hinz. In her playing days, she was 1.82 m tall and weighed 86 kg. After the end of their sports career, she was sublevels teacher and worked with the District Board Hall of GDR sports Federal DTSB. After the end of the GDR was clerk in the disability and rehabilitation Sports Association Saxony-Anhalt and served as coach of the wheelchair athlete Ulrich Iser ( Paralympian in Sydney 2004) operates.
