Marita Lorenz

Marita Lorenz ( born August 18, 1939 in Bremen) is a German woman who at the age of 19 years was the mistress of Fidel Castro in 1959.

Biography

Marita Lorenz is the daughter of Captain Henry Lawrence and the American dancer Alice June Lorenz, born Lofland. During the Second World War, the mother was arrested in Germany for spying for the United States. Mother and daughter were held captive in a concentration camp Bergen- Belsen to 1945.

In 1959 she was on a Caribbean cruise aboard the Berlin, on which her father was captain. The Berlin laid shortly after the Cuban Revolution in Havana in Cuba. She met President Fidel Castro know in an on-board visit and became his mistress.
