Marius von Mayenburg

Marius Mayen Castle ( born February 21, 1972 in Munich) is a German author and playwright.

He studied after graduating from the Munich Maximiliansgymnasium Altgermanistik and lives in Berlin, where he studied from 1994 to 1998 at the University of the Arts since 1992. He was dramaturgy staff at the DT- SHACK. Since 1999 he has been dramaturge and writer in residence at the Berlin Schaubühne place. He wrote plays such as: Haarmann, fire face, premiere Munich Studio Theater, 1998, parasites, UA Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, 2000, Perplex, premiere Schaubühne space, November 2011, after the German - Sorbian Folk Theatre Bautzen.

He received the following awards: Kleist Prize for young drama, Frankfurt / Oder, 1997, for fire face; Price of Frankfurt Authors Foundation, 1998, for fire face.

In January 2008, the short film adaptation of his play of the same name Eldorado was completed.
