Mariusz Jurasik ( born May 4, 1976 in Żagań, Poland ) is a former Polish handball player who played from 2003 to 2009 for the Rhein- Neckar Löwen in the Handball - Bundesliga 1. He was also player of the Polish national handball team. Most recently, he was from 2009 to 2012 at the KS Vive Kielce under contract. He then took over at Vive Kielce the Office of the youth coordinator.

Sports career

The beginnings in Poland

The 1.92 meter tall left-hander grew up in the Polish Żagań and only began at the age of 15 years with the handball game. Previously, he had played football ( as a right-footed ) and was also a passable javelin thrower. In its first use in the youth team of WCS Sobieski Żagań he got his question about the rules and tactics of handball from his coach the terse reply: " You have to just throw goals." The final result of this game was 22:2, and Mariusz had 16 Hits contributed.

In the 1995/96 season he was top scorer for Żagań the third division. He was then invited by the Polish master Iskra Kielce Ceresit for a trial. With Kielce, where he also Karol Bielecki met her, he was subsequently twice champion and one time cup winners.

In 2001 he moved to Wisła Płock, where he was first and later used on outside right, even in the right rear area. With Płock he was once a champion and a time Cup winner, scoring in 56 league games 395 goals.

Career in Germany

In 2003 he moved to the ascended straight into the Bundesliga Rhein- Neckar Löwen (then SG Kronau / Östringen ), the much- sought an adequate replacement for the THW Kiel exchanged scorer Christian Zeitz.

In the 2003 /04 season, he was charged with 200 goals ( including 64 seven-meter ) fifth in the Bundesliga scoring charts. Two years later, in 2005 / 06, he finished with 260/60 hits third place behind Guðjón Valur Sigurðsson ( VfL Gummersbach, 263 /70) and Andrej Kurt Show ( 1 SV Concordia Delitzsch, 262 /91).

Mariusz Jurasik contributed to the Rhein- Neckar Löwen jersey number 13 and played mostly on rear compartment, right, in the second half of the season 2007/ 08 he was also often used on outside right. His 1000th league goal for the Rhein- Neckar Löwen he scored on 17 September 2008 at home against TBV Lemgo. After completion of the 2008/09 season he is with 1185 gates (of which 245 Seven meters) before Uwe Gensheimer ( 752/126 ) the undisputed leader in the internal association scoresheet. The list by appearances he leads with 188 league games in front Uwe Gensheimer (159).

In his last season with the Rhein- Neckar Löwen became Mariusz Jurasik with 177 goals against Momir Ilić ( VfL Gummersbach, 171 goals) and Savas Karipidis (MT Melsungen, 166 goals) for successful field goals in the Handball - Bundesliga.

National

In the Polish national handball team, he played mostly on right wing, such as at the World Cup 2007, where he was elected as "the best right-winger " in the All- Star team. He had originally ended after the 2009 World Cup his international career. In January 2010, he made his comeback known and participated in the European Championships held in Austria.

The trained Dreher is married to Sylvia and father of two children.
