Marjorie Best

Marjorie Best ( born April 10, 1903 in Jacksonville, Illinois, USA, † June 14, 1997 in Toluca Lake, California, USA) was an American costume designer.

Life

After graduating from high school, Marjorie Best moved to Los Angeles to go there at the Chouinard Art Institute, a division of the California Institute of the Arts. Later she worked as a designer for various well-known fashion houses. When Warner Bros. 1936 "United Costumes " bought up, Marjorie, who worked there was the offer is made to work for the costume department of the film studio. The offer is accepted it, and in the following years she gained a good reputation. Especially her work on Mr. costumes in color film was very well received, as reflected in a profit for the Oscars and three other nominations. Until 1965, Marjorie Best worked on over 40 films. On June 14, 1997, she died as a result of a heart condition. '
