Mark Andrews (filmmaker)

Mark Andrews ( b. 1968 /1969 Los Angeles ) is an American film director and animator.

Life

Andrews studied animation at CalArts. He subsequently created several animated films for television and was involved among other things in the television series The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest and films such as The Iron Giant. In 2000 he came to Pixar and worked on films like The Incredibles and Cars. With Andrew Jimenez, he led 2005 debut as a director. For their short animated film One Man Band both received 2006 Oscar nomination for Best Animated Short Film. Pixar's decision caused a stir, Brenda Chapman began in 2006, film Merida - Legend of the Highlands due to artistic differences in 2010 to hand over the completion of Andrews. It was the first time that Andrews has directed a long animated film. He led the film partly serious changes, so Merida was originally supposed to play in snowy Scotland. Andrews and Chapman won an Oscar in 2013 for Merida in the category of Best Animated Feature Film and received in the same year along with Steve Purcell Golden Globe for Best Animated Film.

Andrews is married and has one daughter and three sons.
