Mark Aronoff

Mark Aronoff ( born January 9, 1949 in Montreal) is a scholar of language morphology and professor at Stony Brook University in the U.S. state of New York.

Aronoff acquired in 1974 at MIT the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy, with him his dissertation ( Word Formation in Generative Grammar, 1974) nicknamed the " father of modern morphology " earned.

Aronoff 2005 was president of the Linguistic Society of America (about: American Linguistic Society) and from 1995 to 2001 Editor of the journal of the Association: Language.
