Mark Collie

Mark Collie ( born January 18, 1956 in Waynesboro, Tennessee) is an American country musician and actor.

Influenced by rockabilly stars like Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins, Mark Collie developed an early passion for country music. He learned piano and guitar and joined at the age of twelve years a band. As a disc jockey at a local radio station, he earned his first money.

After leaving school he toured with various bands across the USA and spent eighteen months as a musician in Hawaii. His attempt to join the army, failed, as in the screening condition of diabetes was found (Years later he sat down on a regular basis for fundraisers in favor of a diabetes research ). In 1982, he moved to Nashville to try his luck as a songwriter.

Career

Since he did not succeed, his songs to sell, he worked as a singer unceremoniously. As a performer of his own songs, he finally managed to make the vice president of MCA Records attention. 1989, a record deal was completed. His first single, Something With A Ring To It, reached a year later a middle place in the top 100. With Let Her Go, he managed in 1991 in the top 20 and with Even The Man In The Moon Is Crying in the top 10. But the big breakthrough did not succeed. Sales figures and charts placements eased soon. In 1996 he moved to the Columbia label, where he lost his contract after the production of a not too successful LP.

Back in 1993, Mark Collie appeared in a short film: Together with other sizes of country music, he was in " Country's Cutting Edge" with. In 1997 he took a supporting role in the Steven Seagal - movie " Fire Down Below". In " Alabama Love Story" in 2004, he played for the first time as a rodeo rider in the foreground. In 2004 he had a small role in The Punisher (2004) as a professional killer.
