Mark Darr

Mark A. Darr ( born July 3, 1973 in Fort Smith, Arkansas) is an American politician. Since 2011 he has been Vice- Governor of the State of Arkansas.

Career

Mark Darr attended the Mansfield High School and then studied at the Quachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party. Until his election as lieutenant governor of his state, he held no public office. He is an insurance agent and co-owner of two restaurants in Rogers.

In 2010, Darr was elected Vice- Governor of the State of Arkansas. He held this position since 2011. He is deputy of the Democratic Governor Mike Beebe and Chairman of the State Senate. In August 2013 Darr was considering his candidacy for the congressional elections of 2014. He pulled back this application but, as critics questioned its financing of election as lieutenant governor. About a possible renewed candidacy for the office of lieutenant governor in 2014, he has not yet decided.

Mark Darr is married and father of two children. He is a member of the National Rifle Association.
