Mark Davis (snooker player)

Mark Davis ( born August 12, 1972 Nickname Dark Mavis ) is an English snooker player from St Leonards-on -Sea, Sussex.

Career

Mark Davis was in 1994 for the first time to qualify for the World Snooker Championship, he lost the same in round one against Terry Griffiths. In 1995, he defeated Ken Doherty in the first round of the World Cup and was eliminated after that against Peter Ebdon. In 1997, he qualified again for the World Cup and lost his first round match against Ken Doherty this time. In the late 1990s he nearly lost his status as a Main Tour players. In 2001, he reached the quarter- finals of the Regal Scottish Open and secured the whereabouts on the main tour. In the 2001 Snooker World Cup, he lost his first round match against Stephen Hendry.

2002, there was his biggest success, winning the Benson & Hedges Championship and participation related to the Benson & Hedges Masters. In 2007 he defeated in the final of the German Open snooker.de Joe Perry 4-3.

In 2008, he failed to qualify for the World Cup after victories over Leo Fernandez ( 10:9 ) and Gerard Greene ( 10:2 ) again. However, his first round match against Mark Williams he lost 3:10. In the Northern Ireland Trophy 2008 he came with wins over Joe Swail and Ding Junhui in the Round of 16, where he retired against Ali Carter.

In 2009 he won the final of the first 6 -Red Snooker World Championship 6-3 against Mark Williams.

When Paul Hunter Classic 2010 Mark Davis reached the mark of 100 Century Breaks than 35 players. A year later, he reached the finals in 2011, where he lost to Mark Selby at the Paul Hunter Classic.

At the beginning of the 2012/13 season he won the 6- Red World Championship 2012 with a 8:4 in the final against Shaun Murphy.

In the 2013/14 season he won again in September the 6 - Red World Championship, again by a 8-4 in the final, this time against the world number one Neil Robertson. Only a week later he succeeded in Hong Kong again a tournament victory: He defeated even by the General Robertson Cup back in the final, this time 7-2.
