Mark E. Smith

Mark Edward Smith ( born March 5, 1957 in Salford, near Manchester, England) is the lead singer of the English post-punk band The Fall.

Biography

Smith worked in the docks of Manchester, before in 1976 he founded The Fall. The long-term existence of the tape, there was a frequent change of lineup, Smith remained as a singer and frontman of the only constant in the band's history.

From July 19 1983 to 1989 Smith was married to the guitarist Brix Smith, who during this time was also a member of The Fall.

After their divorce in 1989 Smith married on 27 November 1991 Safron Pryor, secretary of the Cog Sinister fan clubs. They divorced in February 1995.

In December 1995, Mark E. Smith met in Berlin Eleni Poulou, whom he later married. She joined the band in 2002 as a keyboardist.

In addition to the numerous albums by The Fall Mark E. Smith also released two spoken-word projects: The Post- Nearly Man and Pander! Panda! Tanks!.

Was published in 2007 in collaboration with Mouse on Mars under the band name of the album Südenfed Tromatic Reflexxions.
