Mark Farner

Mark Farner ( born September 29, 1948 in Flint, Michigan) is an American singer, guitarist and songwriter. He became known as a singer and lead guitarist of Grand Funk Railroad. The band recorded 17 albums, sold 25 million plates and went several times on a world tour.

Life

Mark Farner played during his youth a repertoire former teenage bands at high school events, weddings and local events. After leaving school, he played with the band Terry Knight and the Pack, The Bossmen ( with Dick Wagner), later again, with Terry Knight and the Pack, and finally with The Pack without Terry, but with Don Brewer on drums which later with Grand Funk Railroad drummer was.

In 1977, Grand Funk Railroad temporarily apart, one year later, Mark Farner signed a solo deal with Atlantic Records, as a result, he brought out two albums, Mark Farner and No Frills.

In 1981, Grand Funk Railroad reunited and released two more albums.

Farner published in the period 1983-1994 four contemporary Christian albums, having already found the Christian faith towards the end of his Grand- Funk - times. Because of these albums, he was nominated for a Dove Award. With the John Beland composition Is not it amazing he reached number 2 on the charts.

1995 Farner toured with Ringo Starr's All Star Band, then with the North West all-star band before Grand Funk cried with bassist Mel Schacher and Don Brewer again to life, to organize a charity tour to Bosnia. In their result, the album was released by EMI Bosnia. From 1996 to 1998 Grand Funk touring again and achieved a ranking in the " Top 100 Poll Star Tours in 1998 ".
