Mark Flood

Mark Flood ( born September 29, 1984 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Iceland ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since July 2013 when the Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Mark Flood began his career as a hockey player with the Peterborough Petes, for which he was active from 2001 to 2005 in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League. During this period, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2003 in the sixth round as the 188th overall player of the Canadiens de Montréal, for which, however, he never played. Instead, the defender signed on 22 August 2005 a contract as a free agent with the Columbus Blue Jackets and ran in the 2005/06 season for their farm team Dayton Bombers of the ECHL on, for which he in 50 games a total of 25 points scorer, of which eleven goals, scored. In parallel, he played nine times for the other farm team the Blue Jackets, the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. In the season 2006/ 07 he started again at the Syracuse Crunch in the AHL, but was transferred in exchange for Derrick Walser to the Carolina Hurricanes after only eight games on 29 November 2006 and spent the next two and a half years with their AHL farm team Albany River Rats.

In the 2009/10 season Flood was for the New York Islanders made ​​his debut in the National Hockey League. In six games, he prepared it before a goal. He spent the entire rest of the season with their AHL farm team Bridgeport Sound Tigers. After a season in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose, the Canadian became the season 2011/12 committed by the Winnipeg Jets newly established, for which he scored three goals and four assists in his first year in 33 games. In parallel, he stood in eleven games for their farm team St. John's IceCaps of the AHL on the ice.

In the summer of 2012, Flood Free Agent could not agree with the Jets on a new contract as Unrestricted and signed a contract with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the Kontinental Hockey League. For the 2013/14 season he was bound by the Carolina Hurricanes.
