Mark Isham

Life

The son of a violinist and a teacher of music and history learned at a young age, the interaction of classical piano, violin and trumpet. He first played the trumpet in orchestras of Oakland and San Francisco and then played in some rock and jazz bands, as with Paul Nash. He distinguished himself first as a trumpet player and played on tours with Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, the Beach Boys, Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson and Ziggy Marley.

After first albums in jazz and later in the pop field he laid in 1983 for the production of Never Cry Wolf his first film score before.

In 1991 he received a Grammy for his album Mark Isham.

Mark Isham is a fan of Scientology.
