Mark James (Golfer)

Mark James ( born October 28, 1953 in Manchester ) is an English professional golfer. He played for many years on the European Tour, Ryder Cup captain was once and is now playing as a senior on the North American Champions Tour.

Career

Mark James won as an amateur, the English Amateur Championship in 1974 and played for Great Britain & Ireland Walker Cup in 1975. His first professional success came in 1977, a year later, the first of his total of 18 victories on the European Tour. Although James was not a major win, but had four top - five finishes at the Open Championship. He was also one of the most consistent players on the tour and binned to 20 times in the Top 30 on the money list.

In the Ryder Cup Mark James was seven times represented, in addition he once was, in 1999, Captain. That was unfortunate that Ryder Cup, as the U.S. audience, but also scattered U.S. players contravened by unsportsmanlike conduct in the spirit of this event - therefore also called Battle of Brookline. Since late 2003, a senior golfer, Mark James has decided for the North American Champions Tour and won the same in 2004 as the first European there a senior major, the Senior Players Championship. The next tournament victories followed in 2005 and 2007.
