Mark Joyce

Mark Joyce ( born August 11, 1983 in Walsall, England ) is a British snooker player.

Career

Even as an amateur Joyce was able to celebrate some successes. He won the 2001 U-19 European Championship and 2006 British Amateur Championship. The Pontin's International Open Series 2005 /06, he finished fifth and qualified for the so Snooker Main Tour.

His first professional season was passable, at the end, he was number 73, thus securing the whereabouts on the professional tour. In the following season 2007/ 08 he climbed in the rankings to 59th place at the Grand Prix he survived all qualifying rounds and participated for the first time in a final round.

At the end of the snooker season 2008/ 09 he had improved over the world ranking by two places to number 57; afterwards, however, his performance stagnated before he could celebrate in 2010 its biggest success in the UK Championship. After the four successes in the qualifying tournament, he defeated the first Ali Carter and Judd Trump. His winning streak ended only former world champion Mark Williams in the quarter- final, where he scored 143 points to its greatest break in an official tournament. In the world rankings, he thus improved in 42nd place
