Mark Latham

Mark William Latham ( born February 28, 1961) is an Australian politician and from 2003 to 2005, Chairman of the Australian Labor Party.

Latham grew up in Green Valley to near Liverpool. In 1982 he completed his studies at the University of Sydney.

Prior to his career as a parliamentarian Latham was from 1987 to 1994 a member of the Liverpool Council and had from 1991 to 1994 held the office of mayor at that time.

Elected to the Australian House of Representatives in 1994, he successfully defended his seat in 1996, 1998 and 2001. On December 2, 2003 Latham was elected Chairman of the Australian Labor Party and thus replaced Simon Crean from. He held until his resignation on 18 January 2005 this office. As Latham had also lays down his position for his seat in the Australian House of Representatives, Chris Hayes moved according to its local headquarters.
